Preserving analogue and early digital media since 1989

Based in Borehamwood, AV Transfers UK works with families, collectors, production companies, archives and other digitisation businesses across the UK.

Some projects are straightforward: a box of VHS tapes to convenient MP4 files. Others involve obsolete machines, sticky tape, unusual standards, damaged carriers, timecode, rare audio systems or a mixed archive with many different formats. The same principle applies to both: identify the material correctly, use suitable equipment, communicate clearly and supply files that are genuinely useful.

Work accepted through AV Transfers UK is carried out in-house at the Borehamwood studio. Where a requested process is not available, that is explained clearly rather than the media being sent elsewhere without agreement.
